An Automatic Existence (自動的存在, Jidōteki Sonzai) is, within the Kadonoverse, a being that emerges automatically in response to certain global factors. To other people, it appears to be a split personality, as it borrows the body of another human. However, it is implied that these existences are usually separate from the host, and not simple cases of dissociative identity disorder. The reasons for manifestation differs for each one, but once they sense their trigger nearby, they will appear and handle the situation mechanically.

The true nature of these automatic existences are unknown. In the case of the King of Distortion, the cause is assumed to be the awakening of Shirou Tanaka's MPLS abilities. However, this does not seem to necessarily apply to each one. Specifically, in Boogiepop's case, their true nature remains a mystery.
