Hey dude, I haven't seen you around in a while, just checking in to see how you're doing. Anything you need help with, confused about? Don't forget you can reach out to me at any time for help! I'm a Wiki Manager now, too!
Oh, hey! Everything's going pretty well at the moment. Just gotta finish up the last 2 missing pages of characters from the first 6 novels, and then I can move on to the others. Also started writing the plot summaries for the books after ages of putting it off (for good reason; it's very tedious).
For now, I haven't run into any real issues, but I may require your help in the future with some improvements on the look of the wiki. I'm not very good at code, so I don't really know how to do it, but I'd like to maybe improve the look of the infoboxes in the future. For now it's just the default look, but I've seen some wikis where they made them look better. I don't really know how to do that.
But yeah, I might need help with stuff of that sort. But, for now, just focused on adding as much of the missing info as I can.
Hey, it's been a while. I haven't really been keeping up with things here, but I wanted to check in and see how you're doing. Any requests from me? I'm considering just making you an admin at this rate, you've done nothing but great things here.
Oh, thank you. I enjoy doing this a lot. For now, I have no real requests, just small nitpicks, like for example how, on the info bar up top, in the media section, the "anime" part links to a page, when that should probably not link to anything. Another thing that kinda bugs me is how in the light novels section, only the first one is shown. Maybe adding subcategories with the series and the other three spin-offs, each linking to the first few novels, would be more aesthetically pleasing. These are the main things so far, and they didn't seem important enough to reach out to you specifically. That's it for now. Thanks for reaching out. (PS, sorry for the late response, the internet hasn't worked all day.)
Ah, the reason I have that is because I was considering an "Anime overview" page, but it's a bit different than I'm used to since there are different parts of the story covered and a large time-gap between each.
For the Light Novels, just let me know the order of articles you want in a list, since I'm a bit confused as to what this exactly entails, and I'll fix it right up since it seems like a good idea.
Well, up in the navigation bar, when you look at the media section, and then at the light novels, it only links to Boogiepop and Others. I was thinking you could instead put some subcategories there like:
Boogiepop and others
Boogiepop returns Vs imginator part 1 and 2 (And so forth, I don't know exactly how many links fit up there)
(and put the four novels here)
And then do that with Repent Walpurgis and the Emperoider spin. Again, it's not a serious issue, just think it would look better. Hope my explanation made some sense...
I noticed characters with special powers are called espers in the Boogiepop wiki. Why is that? The novels refer to them as evolved humans and Towa calls them MPLS. No one calls them espers as far as I know. I think this should be fixed. We could also change the whole "esper" catergory to "MPLS" instead, for example. That would be more consistent with the novels.
So, my reasoning for this was that, while it is definitely true that the characters with special abilities aren't usually called espers in the books (I think I remember them being called that once or so, but I could definitely be wrong), MPLS is a very vague classification that's only used by the Towa Organization, and, at least so far in what's been translated, the term is never given a real definition. Meaning that, for example, we don't know if Naoko, whose special ability was to be able to understand Echoes' thoughts, would count as an MPLS. Same with Shirou. I just figured that a term like 'esper', which is pretty broad, referring to basically any superhuman ability (as far as I know), would be easier to classify. But I definitely do see a pretty strong argument for changing it too.
I talked to someone who read up to volume 15 and he told me MPLS is an ambrella term that refers to any human who aquired powers naturally, without using special drugs or getting modified by Towa. The ones who evolved naturally, so to speak. It doesn't matter what powers they have. That's what my friend told me at least. So Shiro and Naoko are definetly MPLS too.
I've made you a content moderator. Thanks for your hard work filling in content. If you have suggestions or anything just let me know. I have plans for templates and style, but I'm open to criticism and direction.
Oh, thank you! I did want to suggest that, in the navigation bar up top, at the anime section, the Boogiepop Phantom tab redirects to the character, not the anime series, so that should probably be changed. Also, in the characters tab, the main characters should probably be put first, instead of Keiji, a relatively minor character, but that's just a personal preference. Thanks again for the promotion.
No problem, I'm going to implement a character article with a table instead of the category page, so you'll be able to re-order them as needed. I'm just starting to read the series, so I'll need your help with some content!
